You are my favourite audio artist

Really, this is the most pleasing music I have ever heard on this site.

I <3 the contrast between the glitchy beats and the smooth vocals. Awesome job.

I would seriously buy yor record if you ever made one.

I need more Low frequencies

More bass please.
I like the lead melody, but the vocal samples were übercheesy.

Dj-SilenT-HunteR responds:

I'v made a V.4 with more stuff and better bass but not going to upload it :/
Yeah will hear me somewhere soon ;)
Thx for the REV!

It's kinda like old scary movies.

It kinda set up the mood for something really energic, but kinda failed to deliver.
Could need some more elements other than the drums, bass and strings. Try listening to some more D'n'B, the drums ususally contains of tons of percussive elements. Your beat is a good start, but I would like something more advanced later in the song.

Keep on making music, this doesn't seem like the start for something bad.

DSMagnum responds:

I'm still working out stuff with drums. I can get a good beat, but not always do I add more elements than the bass, snare, and highhat/ride cymbol. As for adding more elements, I've noticed that sometimes I do lack on that. I'll have to work on improving on that, too. When I had made this, I planned on making it a loop, so that's the main reason why there wasn't much of a build throughout. It still could've used more I guess.

Thanks for reviewing!

Needs mastering...

Sorry man, but this just became too heavy for me. All the different sounds seemed to be crammed into the same frequency, making a sound-gravy that was very difficult to make any sense of, for me at least.
Of course this isn't a very difficult fix, just try to tone some instruments down, and use some lowpass/hipass filters, try to play around with it to make each instrument stand out.
The melody isn't that bad, even though also seemed to have the same problem as the rest of the song: to much crammed into one place. It may just be my sense of music though.

Don't take this offensive, I'm just trying to point out what could be done better, so you can create even cooler songs.

Keep up the good work, and you'll improve. You seem to be off to a good start.

AnSpal1202 responds:

thanx man I know wat u mean, this song I KNOW I didnt put in a lot of effort, I'll take ur advice next time

Ah, this is nice.

Really peacefull. And trippy.
I like the bassline and the distant distorted voices.
Not sure about those orch drums though, I've allways thought they were a little bit cheesy.

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

yo von dark,
all my stuff is cheesy, i'm surprised the orch perc stuck out but yeh, cheddar cheese on toast mate mixed with roquefort served on a bed of matured gouda, cmon
;ped

Chaotic, but ok

The mix was a little more chaotic than I usually prefer, but I guess that is your style.
First of all, I would suggest giving that guitar a little more treble and hi-mid, and cut of some of the bass, as it seems to occupy all the lower Frequencies, giving no place for the bass to come through. I can see you want to make the guitar come through, a tip is to increase the mid, instead of turning it up, now it gives a very muffled sound.

Anyway, I can see you made a great effort, not really what I would useually like to listen to, but I think it would be quite a cool track if you find a way to mix the guitar and the synths together. Try reading some things about mastering.

Stealth-Emergence responds:

Excellent thanks man! yeah I've been having problems with recording guitar and end up with that muffled sound, which I think now I've sorted so hopefully in future tracks the guitars I record will (touch wood) have a nicer cleaner sound

Peace Out!

Thanks for your review

Stealth

quite original

Well I guess the sound quality took away a lot of the experience, cause it was pretty bad.
Also, I think you should experiment by giving different instruments different melody, here almost all the instruments follow the same melody, I think only the lead guitar had a different melody. I think it would be better if the saxophone(?) had a little more active part here, it's a really nice sounding instrument.
Experiment a little more with different melodies and try to get some new recording and this could turn into something great.

slowz responds:

thanks for the review. Our recording equitment is not good at all and to make it worse its in an echoey room. We had a limited amount of time to do this peice on the recording so its abit rushed! As for me i play keyboard, guitar, electirc bass, and drums. We recently got a new keyboarder whos really good. drummers good to. So we will work on everything that you said. Thanks for the review!!! :)

Garage band samples

they are cool aren't they?

cosmicrandom responds:

Yes they are cool. Really, you gave the proper ratings for this. I too hate this song. I don't know why I submitted it. But because you gave me low ratings I'm just gonna go and say............FUCK OFF!!!!!11

oh yeah

That shit is great, I love the oldschool game feeling to it.
What program did you use?

Metalcan responds:

Sorry about the late answer, but it took a while for it to get posted so I assumed it didn't cut it and I stopped checking back. Also sorry for posting it in the wrong category ;) Anyway I used fruityloops and I think I only used the plugs that came with it.

Very fucking metal

That is indeed very metal, but there seemed to be something missing when it went to the heavy part. It just seemed like it faded to another song. And also the hihat on the first part should be only playing 4ths or whatever its called, its seems to stressed when it plays 8ths.

And I would sugegst trying to run your guitar through a bass amplifier, with effects and all of course (I would suggest some modelling shit thing) that shit could give your songs a more heavy sounding edge.

Demon-Slayer12 responds:

Cool, thanks for the advice with the bass amp, I'll try that some time, and as for the hi'hats, I know it was a little fast but if I used 4ths it wouldn't sound right either, so I used the faster beat instead. And when it faded it was supposed to sound like it faded into another song, but somehow it all comes togethe. Thanks for the review.
